Drawing on her experience as Barrister, Mediator, Court Registrar, Member of a Federal Appellate Tribunal and Solicitor in Melbourne, Christine Haag specialises in family dispute resolution, having been in family conciliation since 1989. With a passion in assisting family members reach a mutually acceptable outcome, Christine’s approach is flexible in her methods being highly responsive to people’s individual circumstances.
From her legal and community experience over many years, Christine understands that people in every kind of family relationship prefer to resolve their conflicts, and has the skills to help communicate and negotiate with respect, honesty and fairness. Christine is also qualified to arbitrate in family property disputes, offering extensive knowledge & experience in legal decision-making as Family Court Registrar and Federal Tribunal Member.
Parallel with her legal work, Christine has been involved in a variety of community service activities, including in Local Government as an elected Mayor and Councillor, as well as volunteered as a Board member of Switchboard and telephone crisis counsellor for Lifeline. As a founding member of WIRE and Women’s Legal Service and community representative in founding the Victorian Women’s Trust, Christine is a Cornerstone supporter of the Pride Centre and member of GLOBE, plus politically involved in preserving the Queen Victoria building, now Victorian Women’s Centre.
